Scopus Indexing & Journal Review

We want to collaborate with a skilled Academic Publishing Specialist to conduct a journal audit and gap analysis of ICERT’s open-access academic journals to prepare them for Scopus indexing. Working together 2–4 hours per week over 4–6 weeks, we aim to accomplish the following specific tasks:
Editorial Policy Review: Audit our current peer-review policies, publication ethics statements, and editorial board structures against COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and Scopus standards.
Metadata & Formatting Check: Review sample published articles, DOI configurations, reference formatting, and indexing readiness.
Scopus Readiness Report: Create a clear, step-by-step actionable roadmap outlining necessary adjustments to journal policies, website disclosures, and submission workflows before we formally apply to Scopus and Web of Science.
This project will help our 501(c)(3) non-profit elevate international research standards and provide global visibility for researchers across partner institutions.

At ICERT, our mission as a 501(c)(3) non-profit is to democratize global education and research by building high-quality, international platforms for scholars, educators, and students—especially those from underrepresented institutions and developing regions. By helping us prepare our journals for Scopus and Web of Science indexing, a volunteer will directly transform the academic reach of hundreds of researchers:
Global Visibility for Diverse Voices: Indexing elevates open-access research, ensuring that valuable insights from scholars across the globe are discoverable, cited, and respected worldwide.

Empowerment of Educators & Students: Achieving Scopus standards increases the credibility of ICERT’s publication pathways, enabling contributing faculty and student researchers to validate their work for academic advancement, tenure, and international grants.
Sustainable Academic Collaboration: Verified, high-standard journals strengthen ICERT’s ability to build lasting academic partnerships and co-organized programs with U.S. and international universities.

By contributing just a few hours a week, a volunteer won't just be reviewing journal guidelines—they will be actively unlocking opportunities for researchers worldwide, bridging educational divides, and elevating open-access science on a global scale!

To ensure a smooth, efficient, and impactful collaboration, ICERT has fully prepared the necessary foundation and resources for this project:
Internal Leadership Buy-In: Our core leadership team—including our President and Secretary-General—has formally prioritized Scopus indexing as a key strategic goal for our publishing division. We are fully committed to implementing the volunteer’s recommendations.

Gathered & Organized Materials: We have consolidated all essential documents for immediate review, including our current journal editorial guidelines, peer-review policies, editorial board rosters, sample published papers, and our Annual Impact Report 2025.
Dedicated Point of Contact: Dr. Kumar from our executive leadership team will serve as the primary liaison, ensuring quick response times, clear weekly communication, and seamless decision-making.
Clear Implementation Plan: Upon receiving the volunteer’s Scopus Readiness Report, our editorial board and operational team will execute the recommended policy updates, while our technical team handles any backend website or metadata adjustments.
