About the Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled volunteer to help Bridge Over Troubled Water identify, review, and apply for grant opportunities that align with our mission and current stage of development.

The primary focus of this project will be hands-on grant writing support. We have several funding opportunities with approaching deadlines and would like the volunteer to review the grant requirements, help determine our competitiveness and fit, identify the information needed for each application, and work with us to draft, strengthen, and finalize the narratives for submission.

We would also like the volunteer to help us develop strong core language that can be reused and adapted across applications, including our organizational background, statement of need, program model, population served, goals and outcomes, community impact, evaluation approach, and sustainability.

By the end of the project, we hope to have submitted several strong grant applications while also building a library of funder-ready language and materials that will strengthen our ability to pursue future funding opportunities.

Bridge Over Troubled Water exists to help young adults prepare for opportunity, access opportunity, and successfully navigate the transitions that shape their careers. To do that well, we need the resources to provide the relationships, training, paid experiences, practical supports, and continued engagement that help young adults move forward and sustain their progress.

This project will directly support that mission by helping us compete for funding that can turn our vision and program model into greater impact for young adults.

We have identified funding opportunities that align with our work and can provide the volunteer with those opportunities, deadlines, requirements, and existing organizational materials at the start of the project.

Our leadership will work directly with the volunteer, provide timely access to information and feedback, and remain actively involved throughout the grant development process. We understand that successful grant writing requires collaboration, so we are prepared to gather supporting documents, answer questions, review drafts, and make decisions quickly to keep applications moving.
