About the Opportunity

The challenge we would like to address is establishing a strong financial planning and reporting foundation for Ma’ruf Commons, a one-year-old organization that is developing its budgeting and financial systems for the first time. We need guidance on how to build a realistic operating budget with limited historical data, structure financial information for internal and board use, determine what should be included in our board financial packet, and establish the essential financial policies and practices appropriate for an organization at our stage.

By the end of this project, the consultant will deliver recommendations and practical guidance for Ma’ruf Commons’ budgeting and financial reporting systems, including a framework for developing our annual operating budget, recommended formats for internal and board-facing financial reports, recommendations for strengthening our board financial packet, and a prioritized list of essential financial policies to put in place.
