About the Opportunity

TheraXPro, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides digital rehabilitation tools to clinicians, including home exercise programs, outcome measures, clinician education, and other resources designed to improve access to high-quality rehabilitation care in multiple languages at no cost to their patients/clients.

We have an existing web application built primarily with C#, .NET, and Blazor. As our organization grows, we are transitioning more of the day-to-day development and maintenance of the platform internally using GitHub, Visual Studio, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.

Our challenge is that our internal leadership team is not composed of traditional software engineers. While AI-assisted development allows us to perform much of the implementation work, we want experienced senior-level technical guidance to ensure that our development workflow, code review process, testing, security practices, and deployment decisions are safe and sustainable.

We are seeking an experienced C#/.NET software engineer to review our existing application and development workflow and help us establish appropriate technical guardrails for an AI-assisted development model.

Our immediate development priorities include reviewing and resolving bugs in the existing application, subscription/payment integration with Stripe, and future third-party integrations. We want to establish a strong technical review process to help maintain the stability and security of the existing platform while safely implementing new features and production changes.

This is not a request to rebuild our application or serve as our primary developer. Our team will continue handling the majority of implementation. We are seeking senior engineering expertise to help us create a safe, maintainable development process and identify when changes should require experienced technical review.

By the end of this project, the volunteer will help TheraXPro establish a safe and sustainable development and code-review process for our existing C#/.NET web application while supporting several defined development priorities.

Project deliverables:

1. Repository & architecture review: Review our existing application, GitHub repository, development/testing environments, branching strategy, and deployment workflow and identify significant technical or security concerns.
2. Priority bug review: Review currently identified application bugs, help determine root causes, and provide technical guidance and code review as our internal team implements fixes.
3. Stripe integration: Provide senior technical review and guidance for our Stripe subscription/payment integration, including architecture, security, testing, and production readiness.
4. YouTube integration: Review and guide implementation of our planned YouTube video integration within the existing application.
5. UI/UX: Review a small, mutually agreed-upon set of UI/UX improvements implemented during the project.
6. Development workflow: Establish a repeatable process for AI-assisted development, pull requests, code review, testing, and deployment.

Our internal team will perform the majority of hands-on development using AI-assisted coding tools. We are seeking an experienced C#/.NET developer to provide senior-level technical judgment, troubleshooting, architecture guidance, and code review.

Success means completing senior review of these priority areas and leaving our team with a safe, documented development process we can continue using after the engagement.
