About the Opportunity

We are a 6 year old nonprofit in its first year as a 501(c)(3) and are looking to develop a strong, focused fundraising strategy for our annual end of year campaign that defines priorities for our small team's capacity and guides execution. We have an existing donor base, campaigns, and a grant history to review but need outside expertise to translate that information into a prioritized approach and an operational plan to run a successful fundraising strategy.

Our fall fundraiser, the Stoop Sale Soiree, and our end-of-year giving campaign are intentionally aligned to build momentum toward general operating support. The complication is timing: the Boerum Hill Community Storytellers Project, a fall initiative, also needs funding around the same window, and we need a strategy for how to position that ask alongside our general operating push without one undercutting the other.

We are looking for a volunteer with fundraising strategy and individual giving expertise to lead this campaign planning work. The volunteer will:

- Review our existing donor base, past campaigns, and giving history to identify patterns and opportunities
- Recommend how to position the Boerum Hill Community Storytellers Project ask relative to our Stoop Sale Soiree and end-of-year general operating campaign, so the two goals don't compete for the same donor attention
- Develop a focused end-of-year campaign strategy (2-3 pages or equivalent), including donor segmentation and messaging approach
- Recommend how to allocate our team's limited capacity across campaign tasks and timeline
- Set up a simple donor/campaign tracking tool or template (e.g., Excel, Monday.com, or our existing CRM)
- Create a campaign calendar with key dates, touchpoints, and workflow guidance

Optional/stretch: light copy support (e.g., key talking points or a sample appeal outline) if the volunteer's skill set includes strong fundraising copywriting — not required.
