Development of a Self-Sustaining Bookkeeping System

By the end of this project, the consultant will deliver a fully operational bookkeeping system that Adaptive Artisans can maintain independently going forward. This includes: a selected and configured accounting tool suited to a free/low-cost, pre-revenue nonprofit; a chart of accounts structured for nonprofit reporting (program, administrative, and fundraising categories) with restricted vs. unrestricted fund tracking; historical financial data imported from bank statements and our existing spreadsheet; and a maintenance guide written for a non-specialist so our two-person team can run the system after the engagement ends.

Work will proceed in three phases: (1) tool selection and chart of accounts design, (2) implementation and data import, (3) documentation and a live walkthrough confirming we can operate the system independently.
