Celebrity and Influencer Outreach Plan

We are launching Compassionate LA: Hunger Has No Place Here to educate Angelenos about volunteering opportunities to address hunger. Most people know about food pantries but not other ways to make a difference, and we provide this information as well as the nonprofits working in each volunteering opportunity. We need a clear outreach plan to engage celebrities and influencers in Los Angeles who have an interest in food insecurity. We have some warm prospects who would be a stretch (Chrissy Teigen is one) and a set of cold prospects who have local interest in hunger. We look for gaps in what is available in LA, and collaborate with organizations that can fill those. Our first of bringing something to LA which has not been available is partnering with PORCH (operating in 17 states) to promote neighborhood monthly food donation collections to raise awareness and reliable food to those who need it. We are also working to help nonprofits adopt a communications tool to improve collaboration and efficacy. We want a solid, actionable plan before approaching high-profile prospects.

The volunteer will deliver a comprehensive PR plan for approaching celebrities and influencers in Los Angeles who have an interest in food insecurity. We are looking for a volunteer with Public Relations and media-relations expertise to prepare the plan. The plan should address strategies for engaging our warm prospects and approaches for cold prospects, and it should reflect our collaboration with PORCH and our work to improve nonprofits' communications for collaboration.

Organization Mission

Volunteer Collective engages Angelenos to volunteer at the nonprofits serving our neighbors who struggle economically
