About the Opportunity

ADUD is relaunching its public website through three coordinated workstreams.

Project 1 — Website Assessment & Relaunch Roadmap — identifies current conditions, priorities and dependencies.

Project 2 — Website UX, Information Architecture & Content Architecture — defines the approved user experience, navigation, templates and content structure.

This Project 3 will implement the approved priority scope in ADUD’s existing website infrastructure, CMS, hosting and staging environment.

ADUD seeks an experienced WordPress or comparable CMS consultant to improve the current website, configure maintainable templates and priority engagement pathways, test the work in staging, launch with ADUD approval and complete a practical handoff.

The consultant will use approved outputs from Projects 1 and 2 when available and will coordinate with those volunteers through limited review and handoff meetings. Each project remains separately scoped.

This is not an automatic wholesale replacement or replatforming assignment. Any major CMS, hosting or infrastructure change must be supported by documented findings and approved by ADUD.

By the end of this project, the consultant will deliver an approved, launch-ready website improvement package implemented first in the authorized staging environment.

Specific deliverables will include:

• A technical implementation plan confirming what will be retained, repaired, improved, replaced or deferred.
• Implementation of the approved sitemap, navigation, priority page templates and content structures in the existing CMS.
• Responsive, accessible and maintainable improvements to agreed priority pages and user journeys.
• Configuration and testing of agreed donation, volunteer, contact, newsletter and partnership-inquiry pathways.
• Placement of approved content and a clear record of legacy material retained, revised, archived, redirected or deferred.
• Foundational SEO, analytics, metadata, performance, spam-protection and security improvements within the approved scope.
• Cross-browser, desktop, tablet and mobile testing, including forms, links and priority user pathways.
• A launch-readiness and rollback checklist, administrator guide, training session and transfer of project files, configurations and ADUD-controlled access.
• Limited post-launch defect-stabilization support after ADUD approves production deployment.

Success means the approved priority website scope functions reliably, is accessible and maintainable, provides clear ways to engage with ADUD, and can be managed by authorized ADUD personnel without ongoing developer dependence.

The project excludes automatic replatforming, unapproved production changes, full legacy-content rewriting, custom software-product development, ongoing webmaster service, social-media management, VOAD editorial operations, fundraising, legal advice, penetration testing and independent program redesign.

Organization Mission

ADUD is a non-partisan, non-profit organization created to ultimately empower African diaspora communities worldwide, by engaging and partnering with individuals, businesses, agencies, and institutions in a collaborative effort to heavily contribute to the educational and social development of Africa and to build a stronger community. The vision of ADUD is to improve the partnership opportunities for our African diaspora communities, so that together we can stand strong to address the social and educational issues and lacks in Africa. ADUD staff and trained volunteers will educate, connect people to resources and encourage community collaboration addressing subtopics including but not limited to health, youth, families, welfare and community development. Our programs are developed in direct response to community need. In a global view, ADUD understands that for all of the reasons, whether it be for the pursuit of increased economic and civil stability, for increased health well-being, or if it is to embark on a new job or join a loved one, the African Diaspora target community in this 21st Century, consists of people of African origin living outside their country of origin, irrespective of their current citizenship and nationality, who are willing to contribute to the development of Africa, starting with their local community. Through our principal pillars Help, Educate, Lead, and Promote Philanthropy (H.E.L.P.), we assist our local diaspora communities by connecting people to resources here and abroad by offering specialized educational programs and projects, by offering various workshops on awareness of community needs and integration, healthy living, etc. and other educational trainings, coordinating social and professional networking events, and providing organized opportunities to give back to our local communities and our countries.
