About the Opportunity

African Diaspora United for Development (ADUD) is modernizing its Microsoft 365-based internal information and collaboration environment, the ADUD Internal Information & Communication Exchange (AICE).
AICE supports organizational work across programs, grants, partnerships, governance, HR, communications, finance, and other functions. As the environment matures, ADUD leadership needs practical management views that make priority work, deadlines, approvals, risks, and workflow exceptions easier to see and act upon.
We are seeking a Microsoft 365 reporting and operations specialist to help define and build a limited set of decision-useful leadership dashboards or command-center views using existing AICE data and workflows.
The goal is not to create decorative dashboards or an overly complex business-intelligence environment. The project should focus on a bounded set of indicators that leadership can reliably use for oversight and decision-making.
The volunteer will work primarily with SharePoint and Microsoft Lists, with Power BI used only where ADUD's licensing, available data, and reporting needs justify it. The volunteer will also document the source, ownership, and update method for each agreed metric so that dashboard information remains understandable and maintainable after handoff.

• Microsoft 365 reporting and operations experience using SharePoint and Microsoft Lists.
• Power BI experience desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to create simple, decision-useful dashboards rather than over-engineered reporting environments.
• Experience defining reporting metrics and data ownership.
• Understanding of SharePoint permissions, information structure, and workflow-based reporting.
• Experience supporting nonprofits or small organizations is helpful.

By the end of the project, ADUD wants a functional set of leadership/management dashboard or command-center views for a clearly defined group of organizational indicators.
The volunteer will:
1. Work with ADUD leadership to identify and prioritize a bounded set of management indicators.
2. Review the existing SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, and related AICE data sources supporting those indicators.
3. Define each approved metric, including its source, owner, calculation or interpretation, and refresh/update method.
4. Build practical leadership dashboard or command-center views using SharePoint, Lists, and Power BI where appropriate.
5. Configure useful filters, status views, or summaries that allow leadership to identify items requiring attention.
6. Test dashboard data and confirm that displayed information can be traced back to an identifiable source.
7. Prepare a concise dashboard data-definition/reference document.
8. Conduct a final review with ADUD leadership and identify recommended future dashboard or analytics enhancements.
Potential indicators may include active projects and workstreams, upcoming deadlines, volunteer capacity, pending approvals, grants/proposals, compliance actions, and workflow exceptions.
Success means ADUD leadership has a limited, reliable, understandable set of management views—not an over-engineered reporting system.
This project does not include comprehensive AICE governance documentation, administrator manuals, broad user training, or long-term analytics development. Those items will be addressed separately.

Organization Mission

ADUD is a non-partisan, non-profit organization created to ultimately empower African diaspora communities worldwide, by engaging and partnering with individuals, businesses, agencies, and institutions in a collaborative effort to heavily contribute to the educational and social development of Africa and to build a stronger community. The vision of ADUD is to improve the partnership opportunities for our African diaspora communities, so that together we can stand strong to address the social and educational issues and lacks in Africa. ADUD staff and trained volunteers will educate, connect people to resources and encourage community collaboration addressing subtopics including but not limited to health, youth, families, welfare and community development. Our programs are developed in direct response to community need. In a global view, ADUD understands that for all of the reasons, whether it be for the pursuit of increased economic and civil stability, for increased health well-being, or if it is to embark on a new job or join a loved one, the African Diaspora target community in this 21st Century, consists of people of African origin living outside their country of origin, irrespective of their current citizenship and nationality, who are willing to contribute to the development of Africa, starting with their local community. Through our principal pillars Help, Educate, Lead, and Promote Philanthropy (H.E.L.P.), we assist our local diaspora communities by connecting people to resources here and abroad by offering specialized educational programs and projects, by offering various workshops on awareness of community needs and integration, healthy living, etc. and other educational trainings, coordinating social and professional networking events, and providing organized opportunities to give back to our local communities and our countries.
