Survivor Warrior is a newly fiscally sponsored social good organization focused on domestic violence prevention, survivor empowerment, education, resource access, and community based programming. We are entering an important stage of organizational growth and need professional guidance to establish a strong financial management and budgeting foundation.
Our current and developing initiatives include survivor resource support, the Survivor Closet, Survivor Library, educational programming, youth empowerment programs, community outreach, and our annual domestic violence awareness event. As we grow, we anticipate expanding our programs and pursuing grants, corporate sponsorships, donations, and other funding opportunities.
Although we have established an initial annual operating budget, we would benefit significantly from the expertise of an accounting or nonprofit finance professional who can help us evaluate our assumptions and develop a more detailed, realistic, and sustainable financial framework.
We need assistance organizing our anticipated expenses by program and operational category, developing realistic cost assumptions, identifying financial priorities, and establishing a system that will allow us to monitor actual expenses against our budget throughout the year.
Our goal is to develop a financial structure that supports responsible growth, strengthens our grant readiness, and gives Survivor Warrior a clear understanding of the resources required to operate and expand our programs.
By the end of this project, Survivor Warrior would like to have a professionally structured annual operating budget and financial planning framework that can be used for organizational management, fundraising, grant applications, and future growth planning.
The consultant will help us review and refine our current budget assumptions, establish appropriate program, administrative, fundraising, and operational expense categories, develop realistic cost estimates, and organize anticipated revenue and funding sources.
Our desired deliverables include:
• A detailed 12 month annual operating budget
• A program-level budget showing the anticipated costs of our major initiatives
• A breakdown of program, administrative, fundraising, and other operating expenses
• A basic revenue and funding projection
• Recommendations for tracking actual income and expenses against the budget
• Guidance on using our financial information for grant applications, sponsorship proposals, fundraising, and organizational decision making
If appropriate, we would also welcome recommendations for developing a longer-term financial projection as Survivor Warrior grows.
