Data Privacy and Governance Memo

We are looking for a volunteer with professional experience in data privacy, data governance, information governance, or responsible data management, preferably with experience in nonprofit, education, technology, or AI-related environments. The volunteer will:
- Produce a concise, board-facing data privacy and governance memo that identifies the key privacy and data-governance questions EIE needs to resolve, covering data collection, ownership, access, retention, security, sharing, responsible use, and AI processing.
- Highlight significant risks or areas requiring additional attention, with brief explanations of why each risk matters for Board decision-making.
- Recommend practical safeguards and governance practices the Board can consider (policy approaches, roles and oversight, operational controls) that suit a small nonprofit technology platform.
- Identify areas where Evolving in Education should seek specialized legal, cybersecurity, or technical advice, specifying the type of specialist and the issue that requires that expertise.
