The Forest Preserve Foundation wants to expand corporate support beyond individual event sponsorships and build lasting partnerships with companies that share an interest in conservation, community well-being, youth workforce development, and access to nature.
Corporate Roots will invite companies to help sustain the Forest Preserves of Cook County through financial support and meaningful engagement. This initiative will be a core component of a dedicated fund supported by corporate partners, family foundations, and individual donors.
We are seeking a volunteer with Corporate Fundraising and Business Development expertise to shape Corporate Roots into a practical giving and engagement strategy that reflects the Foundation’s mission and capacity.
Specific deliverables will include:
-A concise initiative brief defining Corporate Roots’ purpose, target company profiles, partnership opportunities, and measures of success.
-A corporate case for support explaining the impact of giving and providing a clear invitation to participate.
-A prioritized initial prospect list with rationale and recommended outreach approaches.
-Recommended giving and engagement opportunities, including ongoing financial support, employee involvement, and volunteer connections.
A cultivation and stewardship workflow outlining outreach, follow-up, recognition, and engagement activities.
An actionable implementation plan that assigns goals, timelines, responsibilities, and measures of success to guide the Foundation’s rollout and early fundraising execution.
Success will mean the Foundation has a clearly defined, ready-to-launch initiative, a compelling case for support, and a focused list of corporate prospects. Staff and board members will have practical guidance to begin outreach and build relationships that contribute to the Foundation’s dedicated fund and long-term support for the Forest Preserves of Cook County.
