Reading With Mrs. Richardson has grown significantly over the past several years, but our website has not kept pace with that growth. We have expanded our literacy programming, school and community partnerships, tutoring, book access initiatives, and educational resources, and have now distributed more than 10,000 new books to children and families. Our current Wix website does not fully communicate the scope, impact, or professionalism of the organization today.
We need support refreshing and updating the existing website so that families, schools, community partners, donors, and potential funders can quickly understand who we are, what we do, the impact we are making, and how they can get involved. We have made smaller updates to the website over time, but limited technical capacity and budget have prevented us from completing a comprehensive redesign and optimization. We are seeking a skilled volunteer who can help us turn our existing Wix site into a polished, engaging, mobile-friendly website that reflects where the organization is now and supports our continued growth.
By the end of this project, we would like to have a refreshed, professional, and fully functional Wix website that accurately represents Reading With Mrs. Richardson today and is easy for our team to maintain after the project ends.
The pro bono consultant will update and improve our existing Wix website, including the homepage, About page, program information, impact and accomplishments, community partnerships, and donation/support opportunities. The project should also improve site navigation, organization, mobile responsiveness, calls to action, and basic SEO. Outdated information should be removed or updated, and our current impact—including distributing more than 10,000 new books—should be prominently featured.
Success would be a polished, user-friendly website where families, schools, funders, donors, volunteers, and community partners can quickly understand our mission, see evidence of our impact, learn about our programs, and know exactly how to support or engage with the organization. The consultant should complete the agreed-upon updates directly in Wix and provide a brief handoff so our organization can confidently make routine updates going forward.
