Employee Handbook Update

Our employee handbook was developed in 2016 and is out of date. We need a comprehensive update to the full handbook, including refreshed policies and procedures and revised sections covering time off and benefits.

The volunteer will:
- Produce an updated employee handbook that replaces the 2016 version and is organized for distribution to new hires.
- Revise policies and procedures throughout the handbook so section language is clear and internally consistent.
- Update the time-off and benefits sections to clearly describe eligibility and procedures.
We are looking for a volunteer with HR Management expertise to draft and edit handbook language and deliver the revised handbook ready for our team to distribute to new employees.

Organization Mission

Our mission is to engage in protecting and restoring the treasured natural habitats of the Forest Preserves of Cook County and to enhance the outdoor experiences of all communities. We do this by encouraging and administering private gifts to further the Forest Preserves’ mission and goals.
