Global Empowerment Network, Inc. (GEN) is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing education and professional development, legal information and referrals, and charitable and community assistance. Our website has grown over time as our programs and services have expanded. We need a clear, visitor-friendly structure that helps people understand GEN’s work and find the information or next step relevant to them.
We are seeking a website or user-experience professional to review our current site and recommend a practical information architecture and navigation plan. GEN’s website is built on Squarespace. The consultant should review the existing content and identify the highest-priority issues affecting how visitors find and understand information.
This project is limited to assessment and recommendations. It does not include editing or developing the live website. The approved structure and page priorities will guide a separate implementation project.
Current website: https://www.globalempowermentnetwork.org
By the end of this project, the consultant will deliver:
1. A review of GEN’s current website structure, navigation, and key visitor pathways, identifying the highest-priority usability and organization issues.
2. A recommended sitemap showing the main sections and how they should be organized. Areas to consider include Programs & Services, Legal Resources, Community Assistance, Women’s Empowerment, GEN Talks, Stories & Voices, Get Involved, About, and ways to support GEN.
3. A recommended navigation menu and clear labels for the main sections.
4. A prioritized list of pages for a future implementation project, including the homepage, Get Involved page, and one or two program pages.
5. Brief recommendations for what information and calls to action each priority page should include.
6. A handoff meeting to explain the recommendations and answer questions.
The deliverable is a practical structure and navigation plan for GEN’s existing Squarespace website. Website editing, redesign, coding, and implementation are outside this project’s scope.
