About the Opportunity

Treedom for Palestine is a U.S. nonprofit building small family farms in the West Bank in partnership with the Palestinian Farmers Union. We have grown rapidly—from a single prototype to more than 100 farms and 20,000 olive trees—and have compelling farmer stories, photography, video and measurable results.

We have generated some media attention organically, but we lack a focused press strategy and the capacity to systematically pitch our work. We are looking for an experienced communications or PR professional who can identify the strongest media narratives, determine which journalists and outlets are most likely to cover them, and help us proactively earn meaningful press coverage in the U.S.

By the end of the project, the consultant will develop an actionable earned-media strategy for Treedom and put it into practice. This should include identifying our strongest press angles; developing a targeted list of journalists, editors, producers, podcasts and relevant outlets; creating adaptable pitches and press materials; and conducting an initial round of direct media outreach on Treedom’s behalf.
The consultant will conduct an initial round of direct media outreach, naming a Treedom team member as our press contact, introducing interested journalists to them directly, and handing off a tracker of contacts and responses.
Success would leave Treedom with both a practical media roadmap we can continue using and active relationships or conversations with relevant members of the press.
