Treedom for Palestine has grown rapidly from a small grassroots nonprofit into an organization attracting increasingly significant institutional support. Working with the Palestinian Farmers Union, we have established more than 100 small family farms across the West Bank, planting more than 20,000 olive trees.
We have successfully developed relationships with several institutional funders, largely through direct outreach and personal relationships. But our fundraising has grown organically rather than through a systematic development strategy.
We are looking for an experienced fundraising professional to help us identify the funders most likely to support our next stage of growth and build a disciplined institutional fundraising pipeline. We are particularly interested in foundations, family philanthropy, international development funders and other institutions aligned with food security, sustainable agriculture, livelihoods, women’s economic empowerment and climate resilience.
By the end of the project, the consultant will develop an actionable institutional fundraising strategy and qualified funder pipeline for Treedom.
This should include identifying and prioritizing prospective funders; researching their giving priorities, typical grant sizes, application processes and potential routes of introduction; assessing Treedom’s strongest positioning for different funding audiences; and creating a practical system for managing cultivation and outreach.
We would like the consultant to work with us on an initial group of priority prospects, including recommendations for how and when to approach them.
Success would leave Treedom with a prioritized pipeline of strong prospects, a clear cultivation strategy, and a repeatable process for expanding institutional fundraising beyond our existing network.
