About us: Plana helps women navigate pregnancy with warmth and dignity. When a woman faces an unplanned pregnancy, support is scattered across disconnected charities, clinics, and programs. Plana gives her one place to start: a short intake connects her with a dedicated Care Coordinator within about 20 minutes, who helps her build a plan using verified local housing, financial, medical, and legal resources. We’re piloting in Las Vegas, hold Candid’s Platinum Seal of Transparency, and have completed an independent audit.
The need: We aim to submit 30-40 grant applications this year, with our busiest season January-March. We have strong materials but not enough hours to research funders and write at that volume. We’re looking for a self-directed grant writer who can own this work start to finish.
Scope:
Using our Instrumentl account (access provided) and other sources, identify well-matched funders in women’s services, maternal/family health, and community or faith-informed giving, in Southern Nevada and nationally.
Choose the strongest 3-4 opportunities by fit, award size, and deadline.
Write complete, ready-to-submit LOIs or applications for each, building on our past proposals and messaging standards.
Hand off the finished submissions, plus a list of other promising opportunities and deadlines you found.
We provide: Instrumentl access, past proposals and budgets, standard attachments (990s, IRS letter, board list, logic model), our messaging standards, and pilot program data, all ready from day one.
Skills: Proven foundation grant and LOI writing; grant research experience (Instrumentl a plus); clear, persuasive writing; comfort working independently. Health, maternal/family, or women’s services funder experience preferred.
Timeline: 8-10 weeks, about 4-6 hours per week.
By the end of this project, Plana will have 3-4 strong, ready-to-submit grant proposals for high-fit funders. We’ll also have a clear pipeline of future opportunities, so our team can keep a steady pace through our busiest grant season.
Deliverables:
3-4 complete LOIs or grant applications, fully written and tailored to each funder’s guidelines, with any required budget narrative, ready for us to submit.
A funder prospect list of the other well-matched opportunities identified, with funder name, focus area, typical award size, deadline, and application type, saved in our Instrumentl account.
A short summary of what made each chosen funder a strong fit, so we can reuse that reasoning for similar funders.
Success looks like:
- 3-4 submissions completed on or before their deadlines
- Proposal language strong enough that we can adapt it for future applications
- Our team spends its time submitting and building funder relationships instead of researching and drafting from scratch
