Multi-State Tax Registration and Filing Guidance

We need clear guidance on how to register and file for taxes and exemptions in different states, including which paperwork, forms, and deadlines apply.

We are looking for a volunteer with accounting and tax expertise to help our organization navigate multi-state registration and filing requirements.

The volunteer will:
- Compile state-by-state guidance for the states we operate in, listing required registration steps, tax-exemption eligibility criteria, required paperwork and forms, filing deadlines, and links to official state agency resources.
- Create step-by-step instructions and checklists for registering, applying for tax exemptions, and filing state tax returns, tailored to our organization.
- Review our current financial recording approach and deliver a documented, improved financial recording workflow and templates or sample entries we can use going forward.
