About the Opportunity

Our organization is raising an advisory board for our organization Water & Power. Currently, our board is youth/ young adult led, which has resulted in a great community support for our work, but in order to scale and be sustainable we need help from expert board members who will help us fundraise, connect us to new partners and help the overall health of the organization grow and thrive.

We are looking for a volunteer with experience in recruiting, HR management, or talent strategy to help us build a focused board recruitment strategy that targets the right candidate sources and reaches people who have strong motivation to get involved with an emerging arts organization. This will help us build a stronger, more effective pipeline of candidates for this role.

A practical recruitment strategy for our advisory board that our team can put into action. The volunteer will:

- help us identify key needs and roles
- strategize and refine our current recruitment approach
- identify the most important skills and qualifications needed for success
- recommend 3-5 candidate sources or outreach channels aligned to those skills

The final strategy will include 1-3 target candidate profiles, four clear outreach tactics, and simple ways to track responses.

Organization Mission

Water & Power provides performance and exhibition space for emerging artists working in electronic music, performance art, and installation. As an artist-led queer collective, we work to create accessible performance opportunities for our BIPOC LGBTQIA+ community of artists who have aged out of traditional institutional resources or never had access to them to begin with. Our programming focuses on peer-led learning from working artists, grassroots artist education, and hands-on workshops.
