About the Opportunity

The challenge we would like to address is...

Mercy of God Mission International generates a high volume of field media, construction documentation, engineering diagrams, standard operating procedures, and project reports across our dual operations in Houston, Texas, and Namayingo District, Uganda.

What is getting in the way of progress:
As our programs scale rapidly, our digital media, photo assets, project appeal documents, and operational files are dispersed across multiple devices and local storage channels. We lack a structured, centralized digital asset management (DAM) system and cloud archiving architecture.

How this volunteer will help:
We seek a digital archiving or IT asset management specialist to organize, categorize, and preserve our operational media and project documentation within a structured cloud environment (e.g., Google Workspace/Drive). This will ensure our field photos, construction blueprints, SOPs, and grant narratives are digitally preserved, searchable, and instantly accessible to our executive leadership, grant writers, and marketing teams.

The project deliverables will include:

Cloud Architecture & Folder Taxonomy: A structured, logically organized cloud file hierarchy tailored to Mercy of God Mission’s local Houston programs, Goshen Hub Uganda construction, vocational tracks, and administrative operations.

Digital Asset Tagging & Categorization System: Designing a standardized metadata-tagging and categorization framework, complete with naming conventions, and demonstrating how it works on a sample set of files. (Our team will then apply the system to the broader digital library).

Digital Preservation & Access Protocols: Clear guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) on cloud backup rules and security permissions so our field staff and leadership can maintain digital assets seamlessly moving forward.
