Global Empowerment Network, Inc. (GEN) is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving people in need in the United States, especially women and immigrants, and women and girls inside Afghanistan. Our programs focus on education, legal information and referrals, and community assistance.
We need a graphic designer with expertise in brand colors and visual identity to help make our website and communications consistent and recognizable. We have an existing logo and use turquoise in our materials, but we need guidance on complementary colors, readable combinations, typography, and consistent visual presentation.
A volunteer is currently updating our website and has recommended specialist support with brand color choices. The designer will review our existing website, logo, and sample materials and provide practical guidelines our website and communications volunteers can apply.
This project will help GEN communicate more clearly with participants, volunteers, partners, and potential supporters. We can provide our existing materials and timely feedback.

By the end of this project, the consultant will deliver:
1. A review of GEN’s existing website, logo, and sample communications, with recommendations for a consistent visual identity.
2. An approved color palette with primary, secondary, and neutral colors, HEX and RGB codes, and guidance on readable text and background combinations.
3. Recommendations for readily available fonts and consistent heading, body text, and caption styles.
4. A concise visual identity guide showing how to use the colors, fonts, existing logo, and spacing across the website and promotional materials.
5. Three editable Canva templates: a program announcement, a volunteer recruitment post, and an educational or community information post.
6. A handoff meeting to explain the guide and templates to GEN’s team.
The designer will coordinate recommendations with GEN’s website volunteer. The scope focuses on improving the use of our existing identity; website development and a complete logo redesign are not included.
Success means GEN’s volunteers can independently create consistent, readable materials using the delivered guide and templates.
