We have strengthened our fundraising infrastructure, re-engaged existing donors, expanded communications, and developed relationships with conservation organizations and philanthropic advisors. Our CEO is developing Rainforest Partnership's presence in New York City to create opportunities for targeted relationship-building with individual philanthropists, philanthropic advisors, and networks interested in international conservation, biodiversity, and Indigenous-led initiatives. We now need to expand our individual donor network and establish a stronger philanthropic presence in NYC by identifying promising local prospects and a practical approach to cultivating those relationships.
We are looking for a volunteer with fundraising strategy, donor prospect research, or philanthropic network development expertise to identify NYC-based prospects and produce an actionable cultivation plan.
The volunteer will:
- Develop a prioritized list of approximately 20–30 NYC-based prospects (individual donors, philanthropic advisors, and relevant philanthropic networks). For each prospect, provide a brief background and philanthropic interests; potential alignment with our mission; relevant publicly available information about giving interests or affiliations; suggested pathways for introductions or engagement where identifiable; and a priority ranking based on alignment and accessibility.
- Create a concise, actionable donor outreach strategy that outlines recommended approaches to initiate relationships with the identified prospects and networks; practical methods for securing introductions, meetings, and opportunities to present Rainforest Partnership; and suggested messaging angles and initial outreach touchpoints tailored to the prospect types above.
