About the Opportunity

The Preventive Search and Rescue Initiative is a growing 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preventing hiking incidents, injuries, and fatalities through education, awareness, and other preventive efforts.

We have an existing organizational logo that we would like professionally recreated in high-resolution, editable formats. We want to preserve the original design, including its colors, lettering, proportions, and overall appearance.

Currently, we need a professional-quality version that can be enlarged, resized, and reproduced consistently across our website, social media, printed materials, presentations, signage, and promotional materials.

We are seeking a volunteer graphic designer with experience in Adobe Illustrator or similar vector design software who can accurately recreate our existing logo and provide the original editable design files.

We can provide the current logo as a reference. This is a relatively focused project with a clear objective, and the finished artwork will play an important role in helping our growing nonprofit establish a consistent, professional visual identity.

We have the logo but we don't like it and feel it's really boring. We want a totally new version of the logo.

By the end of this project, the volunteer graphic designer will deliver a professionally recreated version of our existing Preventive Search and Rescue Initiative logo, accurately preserving its original design, colors, typography, spacing, and proportions.

We would like the following deliverables:

- **Editable vector files:** Original Adobe Illustrator (AI) or equivalent source files, along with SVG and EPS versions that can be resized without losing quality.
- **High-resolution files:** PNG and PDF versions suitable for websites, printed materials, signage, presentations, and promotional materials.
- **Transparent backgrounds:** Full-color logo versions with transparent backgrounds.
- **Color variations:** Full-color, black, and white versions for different applications.
- **Brand specifications:** Exact color codes and font information, including any fonts needed to reproduce the logo.
- **Full ownership:** All completed artwork and editable source files transferred to the Preventive Search and Rescue Initiative, including unrestricted rights to reproduce, modify, and use the logo across all organizational materials.

Success means having an accurate, professional reproduction of our existing logo that our nonprofit can use consistently across digital and printed materials for years to come.

Organization Mission

Mission and Principles The Preventive Search and Rescue Initiative Inc. (PSAR Initiative) exists to stop emergencies before they happen, protect the environment that sustains us, and keep public lands open for everyone. We believe prevention is the most effective form of search and rescue. Our Three Pillars of Prevention Preventing rescues and injuries in the backcountry We meet people where they are: on the trail, at summits, or at trailheads. We share food or electrolytes, help them rethink their timing, or convince them to turn back before dark. A simple conversation can prevent an emergency, and every incident avoided is a life not put at risk. Preventing environmental damage We build conservation into everything we do. Trash left behind attracts wildlife and often leads to animals being relocated or euthanized. Off-trail shortcuts erode fragile ground. Accidents in sensitive areas push regulators to close entire sections of land. Closures hurt local communities and small businesses as well as outdoor users. Picking up trash, staying on trail, and teaching Leave No Trace are all part of prevention. Preventing unpreparedness We help people before they even start. That means teaching seasonal risks, showing what to pack, and making digital resources people can keep on their phones. Many rescues never happen because someone learned what to do before stepping into the woods. Together, these pillars form a prevention triangle. Each side strengthens the others: safe people protect the land, a healthy environment reduces rescues, and preparation reinforces both.
