About the Opportunity

African Diaspora United for Development (ADUD) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing African diaspora engagement, community development, international collaboration, and institutional partnerships.

As part of our 2026–2029 global reorg/relaunch and institutional transformation, we are strengthening how ADUD presents itself to communities, donors, institutional partners, volunteers, and the public.

We have an established organizational identity, official logo, color palette, and existing communication materials. However, we need a more cohesive, professional, and implementation-ready visual system that ensures consistency across our documents, presentations, publications, digital platforms, campaigns, and outreach materials.

We seek an experienced branding and graphic-design professional to assess our existing assets, strengthen our visual standards, and develop a practical, reusable institutional design toolkit.

This is a brand standardization and enhancement project—not a replacement of ADUD's established identity. The volunteer will collaborate with ADUD leadership and its Communications & Media function.

The Consultant will develop Institutional Brand & Visual Identity Toolkit, including:

Brand assessment: Existing logos, colors, typography, graphics, templates, and institutional materials; identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.

Visual identity standards: Document approved logo usage, clear space, typography, color specifications, graphic elements, photography, imagery, accessibility, and print/digital applications.

Brand architecture: Recommend consistent visual relationships among ADUD's institutional identity, programs, initiatives, communications platforms, and approved co-branded materials.

Reusable templates: Develop a practical starter set of editable templates for institutional presentations, official documents, one-page organizational profiles, and social media communications.

Brand asset library: Organize approved artwork, graphic elements, template masters, and export-ready assets for consistent organizational use.

Implementation and handover: Provide a concise brand guide, editable source files, usage instructions, and an administrator walkthrough.

Expected outcome: A coherent, professional, reusable visual identity system that ADUD can apply consistently without relying on a designer for every new document or communication.

The project will build on ADUD's existing brand standards and approved identity. Website redevelopment, ongoing content production, and wholesale logo redesign are outside this assignment. Final materials are subject to ADUD review and approval.

Organization Mission

ADUD is a non-partisan, non-profit organization created to ultimately empower African diaspora communities worldwide, by engaging and partnering with individuals, businesses, agencies, and institutions in a collaborative effort to heavily contribute to the educational and social development of Africa and to build a stronger community. The vision of ADUD is to improve the partnership opportunities for our African diaspora communities, so that together we can stand strong to address the social and educational issues and lacks in Africa. ADUD staff and trained volunteers will educate, connect people to resources and encourage community collaboration addressing subtopics including but not limited to health, youth, families, welfare and community development. Our programs are developed in direct response to community need. In a global view, ADUD understands that for all of the reasons, whether it be for the pursuit of increased economic and civil stability, for increased health well-being, or if it is to embark on a new job or join a loved one, the African Diaspora target community in this 21st Century, consists of people of African origin living outside their country of origin, irrespective of their current citizenship and nationality, who are willing to contribute to the development of Africa, starting with their local community. Through our principal pillars Help, Educate, Lead, and Promote Philanthropy (H.E.L.P.), we assist our local diaspora communities by connecting people to resources here and abroad by offering specialized educational programs and projects, by offering various workshops on awareness of community needs and integration, healthy living, etc. and other educational trainings, coordinating social and professional networking events, and providing organized opportunities to give back to our local communities and our countries.
