About the Opportunity

Every January, 2Gether-International (2GI) holds a three-day virtual strategic planning retreat to review progress and set priorities for the year ahead. We improve the process annually but need a consistent, reusable playbook to guide preparation, facilitation, and follow-through.

We are seeking support to develop:

A pre-retreat survey to gather team feedback on progress toward the organization’s and individual team members’ previous-year goals, challenges, and proposed priorities for 2027. Responses will help determine the retreat’s focus.

A planning and facilitation guide with timelines, responsibilities, pre-work, and an accessible three-day virtual agenda to support development of our 2027 organizational strategic plan.

A standardized individual growth plan template that each team member completes after the retreat, based on the organizational strategic plan. It should include aligned goals and objectives, action steps, metrics, targets, deadlines, and support needed. Shared definitions and examples will ensure everyone uses consistent language and produces clear, measurable plans.

An approval and tracking process requiring each growth plan to be approved by the team member’s supervisor and leadership team before being entered into Rippling. We are beginning to use Rippling for team goals and objectives and need guidance on transferring approved plans and reviewing progress throughout the year.

Our challenge is connecting team input, organizational priorities, individual growth plans, and ongoing accountability into one clear process. We have refined our approach each year, but without documented steps and shared templates, planning remains harder to coordinate and outcomes vary in clarity and detail.

Our next step is to turn existing materials and lessons learned into a practical system we can use for 2027 and adapt annually.

By the end of this project, 2GI will have an accessible, editable strategic planning playbook that our team can use for our three-day virtual retreat each January. Deliverables will include:

- Pre-retreat team survey: Questions to assess progress on previous organizational and individual goals, identify challenges, and gather proposed priorities for 2027, with guidance for using responses to shape the retreat.
- Strategic planning playbook: A preparation timeline, assigned responsibilities, pre-work, sample three-day virtual agenda, facilitation guidance, and templates for documenting organizational priorities and decisions.
- Standardized individual growth plan template: A clear format linking each team member’s goals and objectives to the organizational strategic plan, including action steps, metrics, targets, deadlines, and support needed. Definitions and completed examples will help everyone use consistent language.
- Approval and implementation workflow: Steps and deadlines for team members to draft their growth plans after strategic planning, obtain approval from their supervisor and leadership team, and enter approved goals into Rippling.
- Progress review process: Guidance and templates for regular check-ins, progress updates, and annual improvements to the playbook.

Success means our Director of Operations can confidently coordinate the process, team members understand their responsibilities, and individual plans clearly support organizational priorities. The consultant will walk us through the completed materials so we are ready to use them for 2027 and adapt them annually.
