Tax Strategy for Monetizing Database
We are preparing to launch a paid version of our database and want to know the tax implications of doing so. We are wondering if it would be better for us to call the fee a donation and provide a tax receipt minus the fair market value of the service or if we should simply charge and call it a sale.
