North Alabama Trails & Recreation is a new nonprofit. We have several nonprofit policies that we need to adopt to ensure we are compliant and operating appropriately.

I have used AI to research policies, policy examples, and policy templates in order to create policies geared specifically toward us. I am pretty confident that they are legitimate policies, but I need someone with HR experience to review the policies to ensure they are what they need legally before our board officially adopts them.

While I have a long list of policies created, here are our priority policies to put into place:

Our mission is to get more people involved in outdoor activity by supporting the development of sustainable outdoor recreation throughout North Alabama. We achieve this mission by providing comprehensive development assistance uniquely designed for rural towns and counties, including strategic planning, project development, grant writing, technical assistance, and ongoing project management. Our hands-on approach builds local capacity while delivering measurable results at a fraction of the cost of traditional consultants. We also provide trail building training to develop skilled local workforces and promote destinations, businesses, and services through our annual festival and targeted marketing efforts.
