Website Audit

I would like to use this Taproot Plus Session to discuss how to update and reorganize The Makings of You Foundation website so it clearly reflects the organization’s current mission, program structure, and fundraising direction.

The Makings of You Foundation began with a focus on helping Black women heal intergenerational trauma through culturally grounded workshops, reflection, and community healing experiences. The organization is now expanding into a clearer structure that includes:

Healing Intergenerational Trauma
Soul Therapy™ Framework, Workshops, and Education
Movement is Medicine: Healthy Aging, Tennis, and Wellness for Women 55+
Mother/Daughter Legacy Tea and the Professor Derise Tolliver Scholarship

During the session, I would like support thinking through the best website structure, navigation, and messaging so the site is easier for participants, donors, sponsors, community partners, and volunteers to understand.

Specifically, I would like to discuss:

Which website pages should be updated, removed, or added
How to clearly explain the Foundation’s programs and pillars
How to present Soul Therapy™, Movement is Medicine, and the Legacy Tea in a cohesive way
How to make the website more donor- and sponsor-friendly
Where testimonials, photos, impact information, and calls to action should appear
What content should be prioritized first so the website does not feel overwhelming
Whether this should become a larger Taproot project after the consultation

My goal is to leave the session with clear recommendations, a practical website update plan, and a better understanding of what type of volunteer support I may need next, such as website copywriting, Squarespace support, branding, or nonprofit marketing strategy.
