About the Opportunity

NPHTI is an organization that plans and delivers training in Pediatric-focused hypnosis skills for medical providers. To date, most board members are faculty members and highly involved in operations. We are seeking advice on basic board composition questions from someone with a background in nonprofit governance, board work, and/or recruitment. During this Session, I’d like to discuss:

Board structure: Should NPHTI continue to operate as a working board, transition toward a governing board, or consider a hybrid model?
Board composition: What is an appropriate balance between faculty members/subject-matter experts and individuals who bring broader nonprofit, organizational, or community perspectives?
Recruitment from within NPHTI: How can we identify and intentionally recruit faculty members who have the skills, perspective, and capacity to serve effectively as board members?
Recruitment beyond NPHTI: What types of individuals and networks should we consider when recruiting board members from outside the organization?
