About the Opportunity

Autistic Women’s Alliance is an autistic-led, all-volunteer nonprofit with a working board. We have two open board positions, Secretary and Treasurer, and we've had a hard time finding candidates with the right skills who can commit to the hands-on work a working board requires.

During this consultation, we’d love to:

Review our role descriptions together. We want to ensure they clearly explain the responsibilities, time commitment, and skills needed, and appeal to the right people.
Talk through recruitment best practices for volunteer board roles, especially finance and governance positions.
Get advice on free places to post our openings, including board-matching platforms and volunteer job boards.
Brainstorm creative ways to find candidates, such as professional networks, partner organizations, and communities where people with these skills are looking for meaningful volunteer work.
Discuss how to make our recruitment and onboarding process accessible and inclusive, so it works for neurodivergent candidates and reflects how our board actually operates.

Organization Mission

Autistic Women’s Alliance empowers autistic individuals from historically underrepresented genders to thrive personally, professionally, and socially through peer support, mentoring, education, and community connection. Vision: Our vision is a future where every autistic person is embraced for who they are, where neurodiversity is woven into the fabric of our communities, and where barriers are replaced with opportunities for connection, creativity, and joy.
