I lead Uplifting NY, Inc., a Queens-based nonprofit and registered NYC Public Schools vendor. We provide immersive literacy experiences and student entrepreneurship programs, and have delivered programming at schools including Queens Gateway and Catherine and Count Basie.
We have school experience and programs to offer, but need guidance on building consistent partnerships and funding. I’m seeking advice from someone experienced in education business development, nonprofit fundraising, or public school partnerships.
For this one-hour conversation, I would like to explore two questions:
1. Which route should we prioritize for growth: individual school contracts, district partnerships, corporate sponsorships, or foundation funding?
2. How can we identify and recruit an experienced education or philanthropic adviser who can guide our development and, as they become familiar with our work, make appropriate introductions?
I hope to leave with three practical actions for the next 90 days and a clearer understanding of the materials and evidence we need to attract partners and funders. Experience with public school systems would be particularly valuable.
I can share program descriptions, pricing, examples of past school engagements, and available financial information before the session.
