From Interns to Impact-Makers: Wells Fargo and Taproot Partnership Builds a More Meaningful Internship
To develop interns’ leadership capabilities, strengthen their sense of purpose, and make a tangible impact in the community, Wells Fargo partnered with Taproot to design a pro bono service experience that would become a cornerstone of an internship program.
They launched the Innovation Sprint Program, a six-week experience that paired sophomore interns with nonprofit organizations facing real-world challenges.
“Skilled service emerged as an opportunity for Wells Fargo to offer interns in a project that would allow them to build skills, fulfil their own sense of purpose, and demonstrate Wells Fargo’s ongoing commitment to the community.” – Wells Fargo Emerging Talent Program Manager Nzingha Williams
The Innovation Sprint Program delivered value for everyone involved. 94% of interns reported improved leadership skills, and 90% felt they made a positive impact on their communities through their pro bono service. 100% of participating nonprofits felt confident the proposed solutions would help address their organizational needs.
That’s pro bono in action.
“I learned that I can be a leader and voice my opinions when I have an idea.“ – Intern participant
