People of Pro Bono: Jill Loomis

As an experienced fundraiser, Jill Loomis recognizes that she has incredibly valuable skills and advice to share with nonprofits in her community. After donating nearly 500 hours of pro bono support through Taproot, Jill can sum up her experience giving back in just one word – gratifying.

Contributing to the common good

When I’m not in the office, you can find me at a museum, in a concert hall, attending a show at one of many NYC theaters, or just sitting in the park watching the world go by. However, I tend to find the most inspiration when I’m able to connect with a nonprofit that needs my specific skills and experience. It’s gratifying to provide my fundraising experience pro bono knowing I’m contributing to the common good.

Using professional skills to make an impact

My greatest professional skills lie in evaluating organizational strengths or weaknesses and identifying the steps to take in order to achieve the best outcome. I’ve been able to uniquely leverage this skill set through pro bono work, having now donated around 500 hours of support to their nonprofits.

Most recently, I enjoyed the lively discussions with several local New York City nonprofits about their key challenges during Taproot’s 9/11 Day of Service Speed Consulting event. It was also very satisfying partnering with Rooms that Rock 4 Chemo on Taproot Plus to develop a comprehensive fundraising plan for their growing organization. To each of the nonprofits I’ve had the pleasure of working with – thank you for making the world a better place.
