You Matter 2 is seeking a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to complete an independent review of our fiscal year 2024 financial statements. You Matter 2 is a youth development nonprofit serving middle and high school students throughout Chicago’s South Suburbs. As our organization has grown, our annual charitable contributions reached a level requiring us to submit CPA-reviewed financial statements as part of our charitable organization reporting and registration requirements with the Illinois Attorney General.Completing the FY2024 review is an important step toward bringing our charitable registration filings current and maintaining our eligibility to pursue funding opportunities, including opportunities connected to the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. Our organization maintains its bookkeeping and financial records, and we are seeking a CPA who can evaluate the FY2024 financial information, identify any outstanding documentation or adjustments needed, and complete the required review engagement. Our primary barrier is access to the specialized CPA expertise required to complete an independent financial statement review. Pro bono support would allow us to address this compliance requirement while preserving resources for direct youth programming.Target completion date: October 15, 2026, to allow sufficient time to complete our Illinois Attorney General charitable registration and remain eligible for an upcoming grant opportunity.
By the conclusion of this project, You Matter 2 would like to have a completed independent CPA review of its fiscal year 2024 financial statements that can be used to support our Illinois Attorney General charitable organization filing requirements. The pro bono CPA consultant will:Review You Matter 2’s FY2024 financial statements, general ledger, and relevant supporting documentation.Identify any missing documentation, reconciliations, schedules, or adjustments necessary to complete the review.Work with organizational leadership and/or our bookkeeping support to resolve reasonable information requests related to the engagement.Perform the financial statement review procedures required under applicable professional standards.Review or assist in finalizing the FY2024 financial statements and required disclosures.Issue the appropriate independent CPA review report upon successful completion of the engagement.Identify any significant financial reporting or documentation practices we should strengthen in preparation for future reviews.Success would mean You Matter 2 has a finalized FY2024 CPA-reviewed financial statement package and independent accountant’s review report ready to support our Illinois Attorney General charitable registration filing.
