Our QuickBooks Online file for our nonprofit needs reorganization. Our chart of accounts does not currently include clear accounts for in-kind contributions and pass-through transactions, and we need the overall setup corrected so transactions are recorded appropriately. We previously used a bookkeeper but have not had consistent service; bookkeeping entries have been inconsistent and only January 2026 has been entered and reconciled. We want to get back on track and establish a repeatable approach to maintain accurate records.

We are looking for a volunteer with QuickBooks Online and nonprofit accounting expertise to help our organization. The volunteer will:
- Deliver a revised QuickBooks Online chart of accounts tailored for our nonprofit that explicitly includes accounts needed for in-kind contributions and pass-through transactions, with brief notes on the intended use of each new or modified account.
- Provide written, step-by-step instructions for entering typical income and expense transactions in QuickBooks Online, including examples for cash donations, in-kind contributions, and pass-through transactions so staff can enter transactions consistently.
- Provide a concise plan of action outlining prioritized steps to bring our books up to date and maintain monthly reconciliations and compliance moving forward, including recommended checkpoints and simple control practices our volunteer-led team can follow.
