The EQuip Our Kids! Campaign is building support among business leaders and parents for Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in every school’s daily curriculum. With recent federal cuts to SEL funding, building this support is more urgent. We are launching a separate website aimed at the business community. Volunteers are working on public relations, Google marketing, email marketing, website development and updates, and creative social media and other messaging, but we don’t yet have a unified campaign plan or a clear way to coordinate their work and messages. Thus far we have built the website and are putting finishing touches on it. We have prepared some tentative messaging and initial contact info for corporate executives and need to coordinate a system for timely responses to their inquiries. We also have initial drafts of press releases and need to coordinate our outgoings with a system to respond promptly to press inquiries. Same for a system to follow up on responses to our free Google ads.
By the end of this project, the consultant will deliver a campaign communications plan for the business-community launch, including: **A core messaging framework for business and press audiences **A timeline of launch activities across PR, email, Google marketing, and the website **Defined roles and handoffs for each volunteer workstream **A simple tracking tool or workflow our team can keep using after this launch project endsSuccess means our volunteers and staff are working from one shared plan with consistent messaging.
Our mission is universal social emotional learning in US pre=K to 12 school ideally by 2030 for the immense upsides to student lives, the workforce and communities. The major issue holding back that vision has been no coordinated business support for SEL as the corporate world provided for its needs to expand STEM education some years ago. In coordination with with many nonprofit educator groups, this campaign is intended to generate that corporate support. It is made timely by the announced needs of corporate leaders for hiring more employees that possess the "human skills" they sorely need, We are both educating them about SEL and sharing ways they can inexpensively support this education. To the benefit of everyone.

EQuip Our Kids! is a national advocacy and strategic development nonprofit campaign whose mission is to galvanize American parents and the general public (including key elements such as businesses) to support in every school's daily curriculum education for students and staff in emotional management and in relationship and co-creativity social skills – to the demonstrated and evidence-based profound benefit of children, teens, adults, the schools themselves, and society and business (the economy) as a whole. In education circles, this is best known as Social and Emotional Learning. The upsides? Mentally, emotionally and physically heathier students, better grades, mindsets and skills to succeed in life and greatly decrease much of human suffering. Most human pain and conflict derives from a lack of these skills not a lack of character.
