The challenge we would like to address is that donors find usawarriorshockey.org hard to navigate and say it doesn't convey what we do or make giving easy. USA Warriors is an all-volunteer national 501(c)(3) providing free sled and standing hockey to injured and disabled veterans, and for most donors the website is their first and only impression before they decide to give. Player registration runs separately through a private link and works fine, so this is purely about the public, donor-facing site.

We are planning a full redesign and migration off SportsEngine this winter, and we don't want to design blind. We need an objective usability review of the donor journey: navigation and information hierarchy, mobile experience, the path to our Donate page (hosted on Zeffy), and the presence of trust signals such as impact numbers, stories, and financials.
We have not attempted a formal audit before. We do have direct donor comments, a donor survey underway, and a board president who can answer questions and approve direction quickly.

By the end of this project, the consultant will deliver a written usability audit of usawarriorshockey.org focused on the donor journey, including:
(1) a walkthrough of the site as a first-time donor on desktop and mobile, noting friction points and dead ends
(2) a review of navigation, page hierarchy, and how many steps it takes to reach Donate
(3) an assessment of trust and impact signals (mission clarity, stories, financials, contact info) and what is missing
(4) a basic accessibility check
(5) a prioritized list of recommendations we can hand to the designer for the redesign, separated into "fix now" and "build into the new site." A 30-minute readout call to walk the board president through the findings.

Success looks like a designer brief we can write directly from the audit, rather than from guesswork.

The Program’s mission is to organize and administer an ice hockey program that provides a recreational, therapeutic experience and education. The program educates, trains, motivates, and encourages the formation of “USA Warrior Hockey Programs” locally and nationally while encouraging individuals who have physical disabilities incurred during service to the United States to participate in the sport of ice hockey in an environment adapted to the level of their ability. USA Warriors Ice Hockey is committed to improving the physical, emotional, and social well-being of wounded, injured, and disabled U.S. military veterans through the sport of hockey.
