Pro Bono Project Scopes Just Got Easier on Taproot Plus

Mar 25th, 2020 Nonprofit Management, Service Area: Marketing, Service Area: Strategy, Service Area: Technology

If you’ve ever tried to search the internet for a solution to a problem, you know that the first challenge is often the toughest: how do you even explain what it is that you need?

We’ve seen this kind of challenge again and again.

A wonderful nonprofit has a tech, HR, or marketing issue in mind, and they know a skilled volunteer could help resolve it. But they just aren’t sure how best to describe it—let alone how to create a scope of work for it. Scopes are vital for a successful pro bono project; a good one will drive your team toward your ideal goal. Practically, scopes help your internal team and volunteers understand your needs, both in terms of skills or expertise and in terms of the time needed. But, since so many groups aren’t sure how to create a scope and post their project to Taproot Plus, they struggle to get started. We knew this was a problem for lots of nonprofit professionals, and that we could help. So we decided to do something about it.

Introducing Taproot Plus Assessment Project Templates

With the help of the VMware Foundation, we now have a collection of pre-scoped assessment projects focused on sorting out and addressing your needs. By using these well-scoped out descriptions, nonprofits will be able to connect with expert volunteers who have skills in each project’s particular area of focus. These pre-scoped assessment projects are here to help your nonprofit dig into your IT, Marketing, or HR needs, find a sustainable solution, and create a plan for implementation.
