EQuip Our Kids! is seeking Public Relations volunteers or those willing to learn as you go. You can be a generalist or have knowledge and skills to reach specific audiences such as parents, youths, the business world, or other sectors of American life. We are open to PR volunteers who have specific skills such as dealing with TV News producers or print editors or competence in either creating and/or implementing a more general campaign or one specifically targeted. Fairly new to PR? We will train you.

The EQuip Our Kids! campaign is a pro-bono advocacy PR, advertising, and marketing campaign whose goal is to galvanize the American public to include in every school's daily curriculum education for students and staff in emotional management and in relationship and co-creativity social skills – to the demonstrated and evidence-based profound benefit of children, teens, adults, the schools themselves, and society and business (the economy) as a whole. In education circles, this is best known as Social and Emotional Learning.

Public awareness and buy-in are essential to the advancement of social-emotional learning in all US schools and its truly historic and remarkable benefits. We have great materials and data to share and imaginative ideas on how to get it to the public. Your help spreading awareness and generating support will positively affect the lives of large numbers of children and their mental and emotional well-being, as well as elevate their schools and communities into more caring and effective realities. See our website https://equipourkids.org to experience the remarkable upsides of this learning.

We believe that social-emotional learning is the most important school reform and social movement of our time and deserves but lacks a level of public, institutional, and financial support greater than that given to STEM education. We value it for its inherent ability to transform human mindsets and behaviors for the better and, if made comprehensive in all schools, uplift human society and the quality of relationships at every level like nothing else in the human toolbox. It is a big deal because it demonstrates that most human dysfunction, pain, conflict, and insanity derive from a lack of SEL skills and not from a lack of character. Our mission is to be sure all pre-K to 12 kids develop this healthy mindset and learn these skills.

We have assembled a small team of PR pros to work with. Management is highly experienced in media and marketing. Our PR and marketing materials are solid and proven and are creatively updated regularly. Fresh press releases go out to thousands of education journalists regularly but we need more volunteers. We create a rewarding and supportive atmosphere for all our volunteers.

EQuip Our Kids! is a national advocacy and strategic development nonprofit campaign whose mission is to galvanize American parents and the general public (including key elements such as businesses) to support in every school's daily curriculum education for students and staff in emotional management and in relationship and co-creativity social skills – to the demonstrated and evidence-based profound benefit of children, teens, adults, the schools themselves, and society and business (the economy) as a whole. In education circles, this is best known as Social and Emotional Learning. The upsides? Mentally, emotionally and physically heathier students, better grades, mindsets and skills to succeed in life and greatly decrease much of human suffering. Most human pain and conflict derives from a lack of these skills not a lack of character.
