Adaptive Gaming Data Platform: Impact Infrastructure for Rehabilitation

We are building a national data platform to capture and visualize the real-world impact of adaptive gaming in rehabilitation settings. Our MVP currently runs on Google Cloud and collects session-level data from partner hospitals. We are now ready to refine, scale, and structure this platform so that it can demonstrate measurable therapeutic outcomes to clinicians, researchers, and funders.

We’re seeking a skilled volunteer to help us:

Evaluate our current Google Cloud MVP and recommend improvements to architecture, data flow, and scalability.

Design or prototype a sustainable cloud-based data tool that visualizes patient outcomes and therapist engagement with adaptive gaming.

Refine our KPIs and data schema to align with hospital reporting needs and funder priorities.

Recommend data visualization approaches (e.g., dashboard mockups using Looker Studio, Tableau, or a lightweight React UI).

This work will strengthen our ability to collect, analyze, and communicate the outcomes of adaptive gaming interventions, supporting our expansion into rehabilitation programs nationwide.

ReSpawn Foundation helps individuals with disabilities reconnect, recover, and rediscover play through adaptive gaming integrated into rehabilitation. A robust data platform is essential to scaling this work nationally.

This project will enable us to:

Quantify the therapeutic, psychosocial, and engagement benefits of adaptive gaming.

Demonstrate value to hospital partners, funders, and researchers.

Secure sustainable funding by providing evidence-based outcomes.

Advance a national standard for adaptive gaming as part of rehabilitation care.

By contributing to this effort, the volunteer will directly support patients, clinicians, and hospitals—helping turn play into measurable recovery, empowerment, and connection.

We have prepared a strong foundation to ensure a smooth, productive partnership. This includes:

An existing Google Cloud–based MVP capturing session-level data from multiple rehabilitation sites.

A team that includes clinicians, program evaluators, and a data coordinator familiar with our workflows.

Access to sample data, intake forms, surveys, and existing metric frameworks.

Clearly defined deliverables, review checkpoints, and weekly meetings for alignment and feedback.

We will provide all necessary program context and integrate the volunteer’s recommendations directly into the next phase of our data platform development.
