We’re seeking a skilled finance or accounting volunteer to help prepare for a third-party financial audit. The project includes reviewing financial records, identifying gaps or cleanup needs, organizing statements in a compliant, audit-ready format.

Volunteers will also provide guidance on setting up simple, sustainable internal processes so the team can confidently manage finances moving forward.

Key Tasks:
- Review our general ledger and supporting documentation
- Flag any missing or unclear items
- Prepare audit-ready versions of our income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Offer guidance on maintaining records and staying audit-ready
- Advise on best practices to support future due diligence with funders or banks
This project supports the organization's mission to close the college funding gap for low-income and first-generation students. Audit-ready financials will enable the organization to secure funding and banking partnerships, expand its impact, and ensure students can stay enrolled and graduate successfully.
The leadership team is fully aligned and ready to provide timely input and quick decisions. Volunteers will collaborate closely with staff to implement outcomes that establish a long-term, internally managed financial process. All systems and documentation developed during this project will serve as a foundation for future financial reviews and investor due diligence.

Organization Mission

At PYTF, we are dedicated to empowering underserved communities through innovative financial solutions. We strive to make higher education accessible and sustainable, recognizing the significant funding gaps that hinder many low to moderate-income undergraduate students from starting, staying in, and completing their degrees. Research indicates that financial obstacles account for 50% of the reasons why low-income students fail to complete their degrees. Our vision is to reshape the socioeconomic landscape by ensuring equitable access to education. Through our Student Loanership product offering—a unique blend of loan and scholarship—we connect families and banks to groundbreaking financing solutions. By harnessing technology and data, we bridge the higher education funding gap. Our program not only revolutionizes the scholarship industry but also places a strong emphasis on student advocacy, championing the financial interests, needs, and overall well-being of students. Join us in collaborating with students like you to forge a future where educational equity is universal, and every scholar has the resources to thrive, alongside student-driven initiatives.
