Entrepreneurship Pilot Program Design

Create a pilot entrepreneurship program tailored to African immigrants and refugees in NYC, offering a recommended curriculum framework, participant eligibility and recruitment approach, partnership/referral model, a basic implementation timeline, and suggested evaluation measures.

This pilot will expand pathways to entrepreneurship, training, and economic mobility for African immigrants and refugees in NYC. Volunteers’ design work will help AfCoFo connect participants to partners, jobs, and resources, strengthening inclusion and long-term economic success for the community.

AfCoFo staff will share community context, priority goals, and known partner contacts and will be available for regular check-ins. Details will be provided during volunteer interviews so the team and volunteers can co-design a practical, implementable pilot.

AfCoFo (africa community + forum) is a New York–based nonprofit organization that connects African immigrants and communities to opportunities in workforce development, entrepreneurship, education, and economic mobility. Through Partnerships for Africans, NYC, AfCoFo builds pathways to jobs, training, resources, and community support while strengthening the social and economic well-being of Africans in New York City. AfCoFo serves as a bridge between African communities, public institutions, employers, and partners to advance inclusion, opportunity, and long-term success.
