Light Between is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit preparing a small California 18+ pilot connecting older and younger adults through meaningful one-to-one conversations and shared life experiences. Our mission is to reduce loneliness and build purpose, direction, and belonging through mutual intergenerational connection.
We need a focused community outreach plan and ready-to-use materials to introduce the program to potential referral partners in Orange County and nearby Southern California communities. Priority audiences include senior communities, libraries, colleges, and community organizations. The founder needs a simple process that future outreach volunteers can use consistently.
At this stage, outreach should invite people to learn more or express interest. The first participant step is a brief introductory phone or video call; the participant intake form follows that call. An inquiry does not guarantee a match. The program offers social connection and mentorship, not counseling or caregiving.
A concise outreach toolkit and initial action plan:
1. A prioritized list of 10-15 potential referral organizations, with public organizational contact channels and a short rationale for each.
2. A one-page program overview in editable and PDF formats using our existing logo and approved program information.
3. Three initial outreach email templates tailored to senior communities, colleges, and other community partners, plus one follow-up template.
4. A simple outreach tracker, follow-up schedule, and suggested introductory conversation outline.
5. A short role description/recruitment post and handoff checklist for an ongoing community outreach volunteer.
The founder will provide the mission, website, logo, program overview, existing outreach materials, and timely feedback. This is a remote planning/materials project. The consultant is not expected to contact organizations on our behalf, conduct participant screening, or access participant records. Success means an achievable outreach process and materials ready for founder-approved use.
