Our organization is looking to expand our board of directors. We are seeking advice on basic board composition questions from someone with a background in nonprofit governance, board work, and/or recruitment. During this Session, I’d like to discuss:
-Should we utilize a ‘working board’ or ‘governing board’ model?
-What skills should we recruit for? What should the minimum and maximum term lengths for board members be?
-Should we stagger board terms? How do I evaluate board effectiveness?
