Financial Guidance

Elev8 Villages is working alongside a young adult who has aged out of foster care and is navigating an important life transition. She is also one of the lived-experience voices helping us tell the story of why communities of belonging are needed.

We have resources available to provide support but want to ensure we do so responsibly, ethically, and in alignment with nonprofit best practices.

We are seeking a volunteer with expertise in nonprofit finance or operations to help us evaluate available options.

Questions we hope to explore include:
• When support should be provided as direct assistance versus earned income?
• How can a small nonprofit support an individual without creating unnecessary administrative burden?
• What documentation and systems should be considered?

What we hope to come away with:
• Discussion of possible support structures
• Suggested short-term solution for the current situation
